Mi Shang Prada Rong Zhai is Prada’s first standalone fine dining space in Asia, created in collaboration with acclaimed director Wong Kar Wai. The project bridges Milan and Shanghai through a refined dialogue of art, history, culture, and gastronomy, blending cinematic storytelling with sophisticated design that reflects both cities’ visual and cultural identities.
Wong Kar Wai’s concept of Tête-bêche—mirrored and inverted forms—permeates the space, harmonizing Prada’s elegance with Rong Zhai’s historic charm. The curated décor features Prada’s art collections alongside exquisite Chinese antiques. A key highlight is the Rising Clouds, Blooming Flower woodblock series, created with Duo Yun Xuan Art Center, which blends traditional craftsmanship with Shanghai’s vibrant aesthetics.
Inspired by the villa’s 2017 renovation, MiShang Prada Rong Zhai invites guests on a journey through rooms that reflect their original purpose, blending curated art, antiques, and Milan-Shanghai influences. Prada’s vision merges with Wong Kar Wai’s cinematic style to create a rich cultural dialogue. An evocative corridor, lit in rhythm recalling In the Mood for Love, features traditional woodblock artworks from the Rising Clouds, Blooming Flowers series by Duo Yun Xuan.

Mi Shang Prada Rong Zhai offers a unique dining experience that fuses Italian and Chinese culinary traditions, crafted by Executive Chef Riccardo la Perna and Pastry Chef Diego Crosara. The third floor’s Apartment celebrates Prada’s heritage with exclusive products and bespoke services. Beyond dining, the venue functions as a cultural salon, hosting biannual art exhibitions and events that nurture urban cultural dialogue.
Located on Rong Zhai’s second floor, the café and restaurant offer an all-day café service alongside a fine dining experience. The menu presents a harmonious fusion of two diverse yet complementary culinary traditions, where ingredients, flavors, and techniques intertwine, transforming gastronomy into a true expression of cultural dialogue.
