PRADA PRESENTS ‘AQUA’: A NEW POP-UP AT ISETAN TOKYO
Prada presents Aqua, a special project that celebrates the inestimable nature of water, its incessant lifegiving energy and eternal flow.
From July 1 to 7, 2020, The Stage space at Isetan Tokyo department store, houses a pop-up dedicated to a selection of items from Pre Fall collection 2020 - including the new shape of Prada Re-Edition bag in black and beige nylon, which will debut at this pop-up.
The central focus of the project, and the inspiration behind it, is water – essential for life and an extraordinarily beautiful element that lies behind some of nature’s most powerful spectacles, such as huge waterfalls, imposing waves and sparking ocean floors.

Showcasing the hypnotic immateriality of video, the 80 square metres of the pop-up store are dominated by LED walls displaying images of the planet’s most majestic waterfalls. The feeling of dilated time created by the slow-motion effect amplifies the falling movement of the water, conveying its full visual force.
Video animation also features in the physical parts of the installation: the iconic Prada Niches, celebrated by artist Andreas Gursky, are incorporated into LED video walls, displaying ocean waves breaking in slow motion, while in the middle of the area water trickles off a grid of cubes laid out to present the products.
The themes presented inside continue in 11 windows of the Isetan department store, where waterfalls and waves alternate with images of seabeds in LED video walls.
