Product details
American artist Barry McGee (San Francisco, 1966) began his career in the 1980s, producing works on the streets of San Francisco and signing them with the pseudonym “Twist”. The exhibition project, conceived by the artist for the Fondazione Prada space, takes shape in the gigantic installation "Today Pink" (2002), a chaotic scene combining graffiti-covered abandoned vehicles, figures painted on huge metallic or monochromatic walls, and fragments of lighter, fluctuating objects. Through texts, drawings, and photographs, the book that accompanies the exhibition describes a universe rich in signs and symbols that recalls today's cities, their alienation and precariousness.Preface by Miuccia Prada and Patrizio Bertelli, interview by Germano Celant with Barry McGee.
