cafa - prada workshop
prada presenting its 2011 collection at cafa art museum on january 22, 2011, activated in-depth dialogs with art and fashion circles of china.
as the venue of the event, cafa proposed a workshop to combine its teaching and the theme of the event. students from visual communication and digital media worked together to interpret the branding of prada 2011 in a new form, through the combination of the new technology and experimental design.
as is typical for prada, a collection never has one specific reference there is never direct relationship between an inspiration and the creative work. instead there is a cloud of influences some overlapping, some contradictory, that help shape the collection. the challenge is to find an intersection of these diverse references in a form that feels entirely modern, new and fresh.
the results of the workshop are presented in the form of a video played on-site and on the internet.
